Infiltrated 9 Rohingyas detained in Longadu, who is bringing them?

Hill Voice, 3 September 2026, Special Correspondent: It has been reported that yesterday Thursday (2 September) 9 Rohingya infiltrators, including women, were arrested from Mainimukh Bazar by law enforcement agencies in Longadu Upazila of Rangamati district.

The detainees have reportedly admitted to calling themselves Rohingya and having come from the Ukhia and Teknaf Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar district.

Now some are raising questions about this infiltration of Rohingya – is someone bringing these Rohingyas? Is a trafficking ring doing this in exchange for money?

Yesterday, a group of law enforcement agencies conducted a raid and arrested the Rohingya refugees from the Mainimukh Launch Ghat area of ​​Maini Bazar. It is learnt that the arrested people have been taken into the custody of Longadu Police Station.

According to initial information, the names of those arrested are Md. Sabbir, Md. Numair, Md. Shaon, Md. Abdul Hafez, Md. Nurul Amin, Md. Hossain, Md. Taiyab, Mochammad Saqibu and Mochammad Tahura.

Another source said that there may be more Rohingya hiding in Longadu, hiding behind the eyes of law enforcement agencies.

The source said that at least 12 people, including the detainees, rented a speed boat from Rangamati town area yesterday morning and went to Mainimukh Bazar in Longadu. Although 9 of the 12 people were arrested, the remaining 3 are still unidentified. Locals believe that the remaining 3 are either Rohingya refugees or members of a trafficking ring.

It is worth noting that despite the restrictions on entry into the Chittagong Hill Tracts, Rohingyas have been illegally infiltrating for a long time. Although many Rohingyas have been detained by law enforcement agencies during infiltration at various times, there are allegations that many Rohingyas are secretly infiltrating and staying in different places with the help of trafficking ring and brokers and vested interests of the administration. There have been long-standing allegations that hundreds of Rohingyas have infiltrated Bandarban in the past few years.
